When you start the system, a quick startup wizard will pop up which provides multiple steps to help you to create/open a workspace, datasource. The followings are explanations to the steps.
In this step, you can use the default workspace, also you can open an existing workspace file.
Default Workspace
Select this option to create a new workspace by default.
Open an existing workspace file
Select this option and double click Browse in the list box; the Open Workspace dialog box displays; you can select to open an existing workspace. Please refer to Open Workspace for more information. Also the list box lists the recently opened workspaces, it is for you to open conveniently and quickly; and you can choose Tools > Options to set the number of the recent workspaces that can be listed. If you have selected this option, the Next button will change to Finish; after selecting a workspace, click the Finish button and the wizard ends.
Show wizards at startup
If you don't want to show this wizard next time you start the system, please clear this check box. Also you can choose to clear this option in the Other tab of the Options dialog box which will display if you choose menu Tools > Options.
Two symbol libraries are provided: AvisMap Symbol Library, and Open a customized Symbol Library file.
AvisMap Symbol Library
Select this option to load AvisMap Symbol Library to the system.
Open a customized Symbol Library file
Select this option and Click Next, the Open dialog box displays. You can load a customized Symbol Library to the system.
3. Create or open a datasource
In this step, you can create a new datasource, or open an existing datasource file.
Create a new datasource
Select this option and click Next. The New Datasource dialog box displays, for you to create a new datasource. Please refer to New Datasource for more information.
Open an existing datasource file
Select this option and double click "Browse" in the list box; the Open Datasource dialog box displays; you can open an existing datasource. Please refer to Open Datasource for more information. Also the list box lists the recently opened datasources, it is for you to open conveniently and quickly; and you can choose Tool -> Options to set the number of the recent datasources that can be listed. If you have selected this option, the Next button will change to Finish; after selecting a datasource, click the Finish button and the wizard ends.
In this step, you can create new datasets, also you can import dataset from other file format.
Create new datasets
Select this option and click the Finish button. The New Dataset dialog box displays, for you to create new datasets. Please refer to New Dataset for more information. The wizard closes automatically after new datasets created.
Import dataset from other file formats
Select this option and click the Finish button. The Batch Import Dataset dialog box displays. Please refer to Import Dataset for more information. The wizard closes automatically after importing datasets.
