Resample

When the vertices of a line object are too dense, recollect the coordinates of vertices to make map drawing simple. It is allowed to batch deal with more than one dataset one time.

Procedure

1. Choose Dataset > Resample. The Dataset Resample dialog box will display.
2. Click the Select Dataset button, then the Selection dialog box will display. Select the datasource that contains the dataset (s) you want to resample in the Look in dropdown list box.
3. Select the dataset (s) you want to resample in the list box, then click OK.
4. Type resample distance.
5. Click Ok.

If done successfully, the prompt "Resample dataset *** successfully!" will display in the Output Window.

Other way to access Resample

First, select the dataset you want to resample in Workspace Manager. Second, choose Resample in the shortcut menu. Third, type the resample distance in the Resample dialog box. Lastly, click OK. Note, this way only applies to singe line, region or network dataset.

Notes

The longer the resample distance is, the simpler the created object will be.
