Build Image Pyramid

Builds pyramid for large image datasets to make them show more quickly.

Procedure

1. Choose Dataset > Build Image Pyramid, then the Build Image Pyramid dialog box will display.
2. Select the datasource that contains the dataset (s) you want to build image pyramid for in the Look in dropdown list box.
3.  Select the dataset (s) you want to build image pyramid for.
4. Click OK.

If built successfully, the prompt "Build pyramid of the dataset *** successfully!" will display in the output window, and the display speed will be faster the next time you open the image dataset; otherwise, "Fail to build pyramid of the dataset *** !" will display.

Other way to access Build Image Pyramid

Select the raster dataset for which you want to build image pyramid  in Workspace Manager, then select Build Image Pyramid in the shortcut menu. This method can only be applied to a single dataset.
