Build Lib Index
Builds a library index for a dataset to increase browse or query
speed.
Procedure
- Choose Dataset>Build Lib Index. Then the Build Lib Index
dialog box will be displayed.
- Select the datasource storing the dataset that you want to
build a library index for in the datasource dropdown list box.
- Select the dataset that you want to build a library index for
in the dataset dropdown list box.
- Select the index type in the Type area. Index by field and
index by extent are provided.
- If you have selected index by field, you need to select a field
for index; and if you have selected by range, you need set the
width and height of an extent for index.
- Click OK.
If built successfully, the prompt "Build a library index for
dataset ***successfully!" will display in the output window;
otherwise "Fail to build a library index for dataset ***." will
display in the output window.
Precondition
- At least a datasource for database is open in the current
workspace.
- At least a point, line, region or CAD dataset in a datasource
for database is selected and does not have a library l index.
Note
Only applies to point, line, region, or CAD dataset in a
datasource for database.
