Export Dataset

Converts data in AvisMap format to other file format. It is allowed to convert AvisMap file to AutoCAD DXF files, ArcInfo coverage files, ArcInfo interchange files, ArcView Shape files, MicroStation DGN files, MapInfo interchange files, Idrisi vector files, Chinese Standard Vector interchange files,  Access database files, OpenGIS GML files, AvisMap SML files, Japanese GXML files, etc.

Procedure

1. Choose Dataset > Export Dataset. The Export Dataset dialog box will display.
2. Click the Add button or double click blank column in the list box; the Add dialog box will display. Navigate to the datasource that contains the datasets and select the datasets you want to export and click OK.
3. Select the type of the files to be exported in the Export Type dropdown list box.
4. Type a name for the dataset to be exported in the corresponding Target File list.
5. Select the exported directory.
6. Click the Export button.

Other way to access Export Dataset

Select the dataset you want to export in Workspace Manager; choose Export Dataset in the shortcut menu.

Notes

• When exporting dataset to AvisMap XML file (*.sml), the user defined fields can't be exported together.
• By default, the system will add the datasets which are selected in the Workspace Manager to the list.
• When exporting a raster dataset to ECW file, if the file size is greater than 500M, a message box will pop up to prompt you the file cannot be compressed.
• When exporting a vector dataset to MDB file, only non-system fields and editable system fields in the attribute table can be exported.
• Not applies to TIN dataset.
