AvisMap GIS family software has unified map resource configuration. The maps created by AvisMap Desktop can be used directly in AvisMap Objects without any conversion and processing. The maps in desktop products and development platform can be published directly in AvisMap IS.NET without any processing.

Mass data management is an important technical for new generation GIS platform. It is an important sign whether GIS software can be used for a large-scale project. Fast index spatial data is one of the key techniques for implementing mass data management. AvisMap GIS develops multiple hybrids index technique based on quad tree, R tree and grid. It overrides the shortage of traditional single index technique and establishes a firm foundation for mass spatial data management.
SDM (Spatial Database Extension) is a spatial database engine in AvisMap GIS. SDM +5 is the new upgrade of SDM which uses new data structure and index techniques for improving vast data management ability. Its combination property is higher than other international homogeneous software. The technique of AvisMap SDM/SDM +5 successfully replaces the other international software in many large-scale GIS application and is becoming widely used.
The spatial database engine in AvisMap GIS 5 includes: SDM+ 5 for SQL Server, SDM+ 5 for Oracle, SDM + 5 for Sybase, SDM + 5 for DM3, etc.
SIT (AvisMap Image Tower)-- is a new external image file added to AvisMap GIS 5 whose characteristics are:
Independent on the third party's plug-in board without any extra expense;
Store image data into independent file for directly use in different soft hardware system;
In theory the file can be up to 264 byte when its size exceeds 2GB limitation of Windows operation system;
Cross Operation System: the visit and store format of this file independent on the operation systems and can be directly use in Windows operation system, Unix, Linux and otheroperation systems;
Cross Hardware: the system hardware has been considered when designing SIT file which is independent of any particular hardware and can be used either on PC, or PDA,Mobile and other embedded equipment;
Optional data compression: SIT file support many compression mode including non-compression, non-destructive compression and destructive compression to address more application need;
High data compression which can reach 10 to 20 times. It saves disk space and improves access efficiency;
Automatically builds and stores image pyramid to rapidly display mass image data whose speed can compare favorable with ECW and MrSID.
AvisMap SDM/SDM +5 has the function of storing mass image into large-scale relational databases and select destructive/non-destructive compression for different need. In image database, SDM/SDM +5 will build image pyramid to avoid plenty of mass loss in wavelet image compression. It reaches the target of mass image data organizational management and rapidly browse effect independent of data volume.
In addition, AvisMap GIS is still developing integrated MrSID and ECW image compression format for management image data.
Powerful Map Edit
The graphics edit function in traditional GIS is weaker than CAD. The system construction using by GIS needs to adopt CAD software to process spatial data acquisition, data management and update. AvisMap GIS overcomes the traditional GIS limitation of map edit. With the powerful map editor function, database creation, data management, updating and development can be directly used in AvisMap GIS, which decreases cost and avoids data loss or other problems.

AvisMap GIS spatial database technique adopts relational database to store spatial data where the administrator can define an account, password and authority for each client on the server. The client only can access/use spatial data within the authority and must obey the rules without initial data. It solves the fundamental data security problem of data access mode in traditional GIS.
In order to fully protect your intellectual property, AvisMap GIS shows its originality in cryptoguard for file format (SDB/SDB 5).
AvisMap GIS stores image data into spatial database and SDB/SDB 5 files and process security protection by using the database and file security technique described above. The other is by using cryptoguard in MrSID image data compression; the cryptographic MrSID data can be used in AvisMap GIS, too.
